Why Livingston Families Choose Pups And Recreation

Livingston is a busy town with very specific dog rules. Families here commute on I-280, Route 10, and Eisenhower Parkway or take the Livingston Express Shuttle to South Orange station, and most of the day the town center on Livingston Avenue hums along without them. Livingston also restricts dogs in most township parks. That means your walker has to know exactly where dogs are allowed, and we do.

Three reasons Livingston clients pick Pups and Recreation:

  • An ADB Certified Canine Behavior Counselor on Call.

Meredith Kiani holds the Association of Dog Behaviorists' Certified Canine Behavior Counselor credential and is a New Jersey Animal Control Officer. If your Livingston dog is reactive, anxious, or still settling in after adoption, we don't just walk them, we structure each walk to support behavior progress. Most dog walkers have zero formal behavior training. We have a certified expert on call and a team ready to support that work.
  • We meet you and your dog in person first.

Every new Livingston client starts with a free meet-and-greet at home. We walk through feeding, leash storage, alarm codes, medications, and emergency contacts, then set up our app so you can book, pay, and get photo and GPS report cards after every visit.
  • No Holiday or Weekend Rates. No Credit Card Fees. Ever.

Many local competitors charge $15–$25 extra for holidays, plus weekend premiums and a 3% credit-card processing fee. We don't. Our rate on July 4th is the same as our rate on a Tuesday in March, for every Livingston client.
  • Open 7am to 9pm. 365 days a year. Our Team is available!

We are there when you need it most. No need to check our availability or schedule! Whether its a same day appointment or vacation next year we can make it happen. Just simply book on our app and we’ll take care of the rest!

Livingston Parks, Trails & Walking Routes We Know

Livingston's township rules limit dogs in most parks, so we plan every route carefully. These are the places we use:

  • East Hills Park — 101 Shrewsbury Drive. A 55-acre wooded park with walking paths, our go-to spot for daily Livingston walks.
  • Livingston Dog Park — Inside East Hills Park, with separate areas for large and small dogs. Off-leash play only with your permission.
  • Neighborhood sidewalk loops — Quiet residential loops through Livingston's neighborhoods, perfect for senior dogs and puppies.
  • Livingston Avenue town center — Sidewalk walks for puppies practicing their manners around people, shops, and traffic.
  • Passaic River County Park — 791–793 River Road, Chatham Township. Riverside trails along the Passaic River, a short drive west for longer walks.
  • Loantaka Brook Reservation — A short drive west. 850+ acres of paved and wooded trails we use for our 90-Minute Solo Trail Walks.

Whether your home is in Bel Air, Riker Hill, or near the Livingston Avenue town center, call or text (908) 340-0078 and we'll match you with a walker who knows your neighborhood and the local rules.

Yes. Most commuting clients book a recurring weekday midday walk, and the same small team of walkers covers it every week, with a photo and GPS report card after each visit.

Do I need a pass for the Livingston Dog Park?

Yes. The Livingston Dog Park requires a Dog Park Pass from the Health Department, with proof of rabies, parvo, and distemper vaccinations. Passes are $10 for residents and $20 for non-residents and expire every January 31.
